Since we have a pretty broad community here at DKos, I wondered if someone might have some insight into this from somewhere.
About a week or so ago, Emmanuel Macron announced that France, Turkey and Greece would attempt a humanitarian relief expedition to Mariupol, mainly to evacuate civilians from the besieged city, but I’m unable to find any further information on it at all since the announcement was made. Obviously, for something like this time is of the essence, so I assumed there would be some sort of update, but not that I can find.
There is news of an overland relief convoy of humanitarian supplies that arrived at Mariupol a couple of days ago, but the Russians are refusing to allow it to enter the city (because of course they’re not). But I’ve seen no indications that this relief effort has any ties to the effort announced by Macron and I doubt it could have been put together quite THAT quickly.
So...does anyone have any news on French/Turkish/Greek effort to evacuate Mariupol?
