Footage shown to jurors now comes by way of Officer Owens body cam. Even if the officer forgets to activate his body worn camera, there is a safety feature in place. If an officer withdraws his taser, the camera will come on automatically.
The body cam also captures sound; any delay in sound is not because it is actually quiet in this moment filmed, it is buffering the footage. The footage is shown briefly and is very intense: we see the officers try to move the rioters as they resist and fight back.
They grabbed at their uniforms, weapons, helmets, badges, anything the rioters could take off Owens and other officers, they tried. We see more body cam footage of the rioters screaming at Owens, one person holds a Gadsden flag.
It's 2:46:10 in the body cam footage now shown. Rioters are chanting various things at police, including: "This is our house" "we feed your families" "you work for us" "we pay your salaries"
