The Texas Attorney General, and serial shitbag, Ken Paxton has been in the news this week for his ridiculous scandalous lawsuit against four other states in a bid to overturn the election results. You may have seen opinions that he’s angling for a pardon. That’s because he was not only indicted on securities fraud charges (several years ago, but it remains pending) but he’s also been under investigation by the FBI for abuse of office.
Back in October, I posted this, about his latest crimes.
Texas AG accused of bribery and more — by his own staff
Per the Austin American-Statesman today:
Top aides of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton have asked federal law enforcement authorities to investigate allegations of improper influence, abuse of office, bribery and other potential crimes against the state’s top lawyer.
In a one-page letter to the state agency’s director of human resources, obtained Saturday by the American-Statesman and KVUE-TV, seven executives in the upper tiers of the office said that they are seeking the investigation into Paxton “in his official capacity as the current Attorney General of Texas.”
That letter was then leaked to the Press, which began fleshing out the story. One of Paxton’s donors, a real estate investor by the name Nate Paul, had been raided by the FBI sometime earlier. In a bid to sue the FBI, he relied on Paxton to get hold of documents that he should not have access to, and Paxton ordered that his office begin investigating the Feds on Paul’s behalf. His people balked, and were subsequently punished for refusing to go along.
Shortly after the letter leaked, his #2 resigned, and several others were harassed and then fired. Paxton called them “rogue employees” but it’s important to emphasize that these people were all the most senior staffers at the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
Despite — or, more likely, because of — all of this, Paxton filed that awful lawsuit, seeking to convince the Supreme Court to do the unthinkable. Because he hopes to get one of those pardons from the criminal shitbag-in-chief.
And then this was just dropped today by Tony Plohetski of the Austin American-Statesman :
Whatever it was the FBI sought, we can be sure that they were provided clear information about what to look for by Paxton’s former — and honest — underlings.
Can you just imagine that this asshole was your boss? At Justice?! Fucking hell.

I forgot to include this, from the Austin American-Statesman:
FBI agents seek Texas attorney general records in Paxton probe
Federal agents served at least one subpoena Wednesday on the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in an ongoing investigation into allegations that Paxton abused his authority by helping a friend and campaign donor.
Three sources confirmed to the American-Statesman and KVUE-TV that FBI agents delivered the request for information to the agency’s headquarters on West 14th Street. The sources did not immediately know how many subpoenas were issued or what information FBI agents sought.
It doesn’t provide much more detail but it’s worth checking out for more on the backstory.
