Geez people, the premature anger and joy over whether Lawrence O’Donnell was leaving or staying at MSNBC was completely misplaced the last couple days. Nothing has been finalized as of yet!! The latest is an article from CNN that confirms O’Donnell may leave.
MSNBC's prime time lineup is on a ratings roll right now -- but the channel's 10 p.m. host Lawrence O'Donnell may be leaving in three weeks.
O'Donnell and MSNBC have not yet struck a new deal despite the fact that the current one ends early next month -- a highly unusual situation in the television news business.
Word about O'Donnell's uncertain status leaked out over the weekend.
On Wednesday morning O'Donnell confirmed it through a tweet: "Contract expires June 4. I'll let you know where you can watch me June 5 if it's not msnbc. I'm sorry this situation has become public."
Here is the tweet, straight from Lawrence.
As I warned last night, thinking he’s kept his job is the WORST thing we can do. You’re no different than the person in a horror movie who THINKS they’ve killed the monster, turns around to smile, just as the monster rises and guts the idiot through the heart.
Keep the pressure up with MSNBC to keep Lawrence. Do NOT let up now, unless you want to lose this fight as well.
