On this Earth Day, I am reminded of a Native American saying: We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.
Talking with future voters at Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach.
#45 has made it clear with his budget and EPA appointments that his administration will not be enforcing many of the key regulations that protect our environment. Critical projects, like cleaning the Chesapeake Bay and mitigating sea level rise, will increasingly be left up to the states to either implement or ignore. That’s why this race is so critical.
Will you help me fight for our environment with a contribution?
I’m running for the House of Delegates because I know we can not afford to ignore the problems of pollution or climate change. I have seen the bay’s ecological and economic transformation from a grimy mess into a sparkling scene for fishing, tourism, and lessons on how it’s not too late to save our planet. We can’t let it fall backwards again.
Neighborhoods all over Hampton Roads are flooding every time it rains due to a number of factors including sea level rise. They need major work done to drainage systems that the cities have deferred for too long. I will make supporting these projects a priority in the General Assembly because our families shouldn’t have to fear floating away from their homes.
We have the ability, the resources and the ingenuity to transition to clean renewable energy right now. Virginia can reinvent it’s economy by making that transition as quickly as possible. Our future depends on it. Our children’s future depends on it.
Are you with me?
