Campaign Action
House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is widely known for 1.) making speeches on the Senate floor flatly lying about Democratic actions in order to justify Republican ones and 2.) having absolutely nothing to say, ever, about any Republican caught in scandal. He has said not a damn thing about Donald Trump's corporate doings, his constant, daily lies, his ethics-devoid statements on Nazis, or the dozens of revelations of links between the Trump campaign team and Russian figures intent on sabotaging the American election.
In fact, when then-president Barack Obama came to Mitch McConnell to ask McConnell to support an effort to warn the public about Russian actions before the election, Mitch McConnell refused, warning Obama that if the administration did warn the public he would publicly oppose Obama's efforts, claiming them to be partisan.
Mitch McConnell is what is wrong with the Republican Party. Mitch McConnell has spent his career gaslighting the public with weaponized public lying. Mitch McConnell is an unethical, malevolent, partisan toady who in a better party would be run out of town on a rail, so he can shut all the way up when it comes to lecturing anyone about anything.
“The near daily barrage of allegations of sexual misconduct against Senator Franken are extremely concerning to all of us in the Senate. While the Senate ethics committee is reviewing these serious allegations, it now appears that Senator Franken has lost the support of his colleagues, and most importantly, his constituents. I do not believe he can effectively serve the people of Minnesota in the U.S. Senate any longer.”
The Republican Party is currently sending cash to child molester Roy Moore in an effort to get him elected to the Senate.
Mitch himself, after previously calling on Moore to drop out in the singular attempt at morality Mitch has attempted in several years, now says only that Alabama voters should make the decision as to whether or not Mitch McConnell will soon have a child molester as a colleague. And Republicans have similarly backed off would-be plans to rid themselves of Moore should he be elected.
So Mitch McConnell can shut up, forever, about "serious allegations" and "sexual misconduct" and what the hell the other, better, more moral, more ethical, more upstanding major political party should or should not be doing. Because Mitch McConnell's party is in Alabama, right now, funneling money to a child molester in the hopes of making him a senator.
Piss off.
