There is one best nickname for the Republican candidate: Trickster Trump.
Candidate Trump uses tricks and smears to discredit his competitors and wants to confuse his audience into believing conspiracy theories that have no factual basis and twist the thinking of his possible supporters based on lies and misstating the ideas and activities of his competitors.
To run against Trump is to keep untying the knots of false theories and statements in a convincing way so that his misinformation will not give him an advantage he doesn’t deserve.
He also used trickery to gain advantage in business enterprises and to reduce his taxes unfairly and perhaps illegally.
His failed building and business projects and repeated bankruptcies are means of tricking his partners his suppliers customers and certain government agencies.
His policies are huge promises with no feasible plan connected. His campaign speeches play to the emotional discouragement of some less fortunate citizens and keep their attention and support based on emotional appeal, not on reasonable understanding of the challenge of running the nation as President.
Hooking people’s fears and concerns to gain their support is a trick in itself.
Trump is selling himself as a big hero. The easy answer to America’s future and the individual circumstance of the disgruntled is the Trump trick, “just trust me.”
American government does not work this way. We do not chose a mysterious demagogue who will dictate the direction of our nation because we are a patchwork quilt of self-government. We have a powerful Congress, Supreme Court, State and Local governments and we do not allow a Grand Dictator to efficiently run our country like his personal regime.
He is trying to trick the exhausted and the discouraged into believing running this powerful country is a Simple Task. That is a trick.
American government is a complex enterprise and a rank amateur and known trickster can not properly fill the job of President.
Trickster Trump would be a disaster if chosen in November. I hope the American public will vote with their eyes and ears open and their clearest reasoning skills.
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
