Hillary showed her worst stripes — and what many feared — by looking to pander to “moderate” Republicans for votes.
I’ve been a Hillary supporter and think it’s just a completely stoopid strategy and will only piss off the base:
Hillary Clinton invokes unlikely allies on the stump — the Bushes
There is NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be gained from this BS.
They won’t vote for you, they will never vote for you and all you do is embolden them. You will not represent their interests, you shouldn’t represent their interests, and what you should really tell them is all is to go to hell for making a Trump nomination possible by deliberately dumbing down the electorate for decades.
Geesus.
****** Thanks for all the comments. Sorry couldn’t respond right away.
FYI, just to summarize my responses:
- I don’t mind reaching across the aisle but only from a position of power (eg. we are in the WH and have won one or both houses)
- The Republican leadership, including the Bushes, have enabled all the ignorance, nativism and middle class destruction since Reagan. Never heard a word from the “reasonable” ones to stop blocking Obama or destroying the Clintons. Eff them.
- This kinda of talk before she’s won the WH only enables the Republicans to separate themselves from Trump — I want him tied like an anchor around their necks.
- It’s delusional to think she will peel ‘moderate’ Republicans to her side — they hate her as much as we hate Trump.
- We want to suppress the Republican vote anyway, not get them out to vote for HRC and then vote Republican down-ballot.
- This is the best time we’ve had since Reagan to destroy his framing and BS. It should be balls to the wall for the next five months, not offering peace pipes.
- It plays right into the hands of the Bernie oligarchy frame — that they’re all friends at that level who don’t give a damn about average Americans.
- I hate George W and he is what made a Trump nomination possible. There is no excuse for his amoral, wicked presidency. None. He made all those choices. Eff him.
