I’m insulted and I hope you are, too.
It’s looking very likely the Grand Ol’ Party will be nominating Donald Trump as their candidate for president.
The phony-baloney TV actor who set the stage for 35 years of government dysfunction was one thing, Then the son of a CIA man from Texas who lied us into a war that is the gift that keeps on giving was another. But now this knuckle-headed knuckle-dragger?
This racist, misogynistic piece of reality TV culture trash is going to represent one of the two leading political parties of the United States of America? A guy who can’t even pass the “won’t fling his own poop at other leaders” check box for the presidency? They might as well be voting for Daffy Duck or Jethro Bodine.
These idiots on the right are likely nominating a candidate that will ruin American prestige around the world and endanger our rights and our basic American principles here at home.
And when asked why they are voting for his orangeness, they have no real answer. “He’s a businessman.” “He’s says things other politicians won’t say.” Maybe for good reason, moron!
Normal adults know Donald Trump is a bullshit TV personality and self-aggrandizing blowhard. He’s harmless if no one votes for him. But they have and apparently will continue to, posing a very real threat to our Republic.
So what’s my response? We have to hang this turd around the neck of the Republican Party and sink the party along with him.
The GOP has to pay for this at the ballot box in 2016, on every ballot box — local, state and federal— for creating the conditions enabling the rise of this creep. We should make them feel the pain for spending the last 40 years enabling the reverse Darwinism of their presidential hopefuls.
I disagree with Robert Reich. I’m fine with seeing the GOP disappear. These lunkheads can splinter and be lost in the wilderness forever for all I care.
It’s so way past time for the grown-ups on the left to run this country. And I believe that the Donald presents the best opportunity in modern history to finally answer the question of what kind of country we’re going to be. One of rationality and compassion, or some kind of reckless, stoopid and dangerous idiocracy.
Wake up your friends, tell your neighbors. Use every Trump insult to rile every constituent to register and vote. Let’s use his words and his demeanor and his deliberate stupidity to elect more and better Democrats in larger numbers than ever before this November, and take back Congress as well as the governor’s mansions and statehouses and county boards and city councils throughout the land.
These idiots are apparently going to give us a golden opportunity to take back our country for good.
