Schrödinger’s Cat
A living cat is placed into a steel chamber along with a hammer, a vial of hydrocyanic acid and a very small amount of radioactive substance. If even a single atom of the radioactive substance decays during the test period, a relay mechanism will trip the hammer, which will, in turn, break the vial of poisonous gas and cause the cat to die.
2 Results are meant to be possible:
i) The cat will be both dead and alive until someone looks in the box.
ii) The observer and the cat simply exist in two realities -- one in which the cat is dead, and one in which the cat is alive.
What actually occurs is:
The observer upon returning to her office finds the cat asleep in his basket by the radiator.
The observer now sits somewhat shell-shocked with the cat purring on her knee as she writes an apology note to the vet. On a positive note, “*psycho-kitty’s” health check results are excellent, the vet will recover.
Cat’s are chaos and are not governed by “standard” rules.
As Schrödinger noted before he died:
I wish I’d never met that bloody cat.
My partner says, “but, he never does that when I take him”
Yep, and the sun shines out his ass/
