In 2016 I had and involuntary job change in a market with few employers offering full benefits, like healthcare. Throw in the fact that my wife had preexisting medical conditions and, like so many, I was between a rock and a hard place. The Affordable Health Care Act kept my family budget from crashing and gave me the opportunity to transition to new and even better work.
It was shortIy after this I watched Donald Trump and the Ohio Legislature devalue, defund and sabotage my health plan, and I realized that to protect my family, I was going to have to do more than just talk about it.
That led me to some exciting volunteer work where I learned more about the issues facing Ohio, but I never envisioned myself running for public office. Then In 2019 we had a mass shooting in West Chester Township that left 4 people dead, and shortly after that the Dayton Mass Murders hit, and I felt like I was physically shoved over a line. This happened in MY HOME TOWN, where I grew up and I’m still caring for my family. I can’t stand on the sidelines any more because there ARE no sidelines.
Health, Safety and Personal Responsibility are what is important to me.
I believe in common sense solutions: – great public schools –affordable healthcare – and policies that help working people. That’s why Sherrod Brown endorsed me.
We are going to knock on 5000 Persuadable Doors. (My Magic number – I can’t believe it’s that low either!) We have already hit well over 300 and we are just getting ramped up. For Pete’s sake, I’m going to EASILY hit 2000 doors personally.
But we want to do targeted direct mail in the fall and that costs money. If you can help, this is a good bet for the future: My ActBlue
Thank you to all the Kossacks who have encouraged, educated and inspired me over the years!
I never could have made it this far without you. ChuckforOhio
