The DEA in Colorado has gone rogue.
The leader of the rogue DEA division, Denver DEA Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Sweetin, ordered a home invasion in open defiance of President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder's directive to stop such raids in states with medical marijuana laws.
We'll see if the US attorney for Colorado ignores Attorney General Holder and President Obama and proceeds with prosecution in this case. We'll see if President Obama was lying to Americans about this or not.
More.
On Saturday, a lawyer that specializes in medical marijuana cases filed a formal complaint:
A lawyer who specializes in medical marijuana cases is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to discipline agents who raided the home of a marijuana grower in suburban Denver.
Lawyer Rob Corry filed a formal complaint of waste, fraud and abuse against the Drug Enforcement Administration on Saturday. He said the Highlands Ranch raid violated the department's new policy of not targeting medical marijuana users or suppliers who are in compliance with state medical marijuana laws.

Thanks as usual to Ben Masel's activism, we have more on the rabid Colorado DEA agents ignoring President Obama and Eric Holder's directives to stop harassing sick people and their suppliers.
These rogue agents are targeting testing facilities which ensure quality product for patients. They are that pathetic. The Colorado DEA has declared full-blown open war on the Colorado's medical marijuana laws, again in open defiance of Attorney General Holder's directive to stop such raids:
Yesterday, Betty Aldworth, director of outreach for Full Spectrum Laboratories, a marijuana testing facility, was at the State Capitol to watch lab co-owner Bob Winniki testify about Senator Chris Romer's just-introduced bill dealing with the relationship between doctors and medical marijuana patients.
But before Winniki could speak, the twosome received an e-mail letting them know members of the Drug Enforcement Administration had stopped by the lab. And by the time they got back to the facility, Aldworth says, "it was full of DEA agents" and other local law-enforcement types, who spent the next several hours seizing all the marijuana testing samples they could find.

We recently wrote about how a DEA raid at Full Spectrum Laboratories, a Denver medical marijuana testing facility, was triggered by the lab applying for an analytical lab licensure through the DEA. Now DEA agents have hit another marijuana testing lab -- Colorado Springs-based Genovations -- not long after the lab applied for the same license.

President Obama obviously needs to clarify his statements on medical marijuana and/or deal with these rogue agents in Colorado. You don't hear about this much in California anymore so this is obviously isolated to this rogue DEA division in Colorado.
