Tim Alexander here once again. For those who didn’t catch either of my first two posts, I’m a former law enforcement officer, survivor of police brutality, and current civil rights attorney who is taking on turncoat Rep. Jeff Van Drew.
I’m here today to talk about Jeff Van Drew’s shameful vote against the bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection. Ever since he left the Democratic Party, and pledged his “undying” loyalty to Trump, he has consistently disappointed us in South Jersey. Nevertheless, his vote on Wednesday is a new low.
As a 27-year veteran of law enforcement, I was extremely troubled watching those brave officers risk their lives to protect our great democracy. Indeed, January 6 was one of the darkest days in American history; a coordinated effort to overturn the very peaceful transfer of power that underpins our Constitution.
Simply put, we need to come together to get to the bottom of the events of the insurrection to ensure accountability and that this never happens again. Van Drew’s decision to once again put partisanship over country is a betrayal to our district, the officers who defended the Capitol that day, and the oath he swore when he took office.
But I need your help to do it. Together, we must make his vote to overturn President Biden’s legitimate victory and against the investigation of the insurrection a scarlet letter that follows the congressman everywhere he goes. We in South Jersey, and in the country as a whole, deserve a representative who abides by their oath to the Constitution and puts their constituents, and our democracy, first.
That’s why I’m asking for $27, $50, or whatever you can chip in to help my efforts to flip this district. This is going to be one of the most competitive flippable districts in the country – let’s send a message to Jeff Van Drew that our country stands for decency and democracy.
