When the Indianapolis office of the US National Weather Service (NWS) posted updates in English and Spanish, a wave of anger has been directed at them. Racist responses have adorned the comment section of NWS-Indianapolis’s Facebook posts.
As a result, NWS-Indianapolis had to take action; they posted the following message in both English and Spanish.
As many of our followers have noticed, some of our posts are in both English and Spanish. The second most spoken language in the state of Indiana is Spanish, spoken by about 300,000 households. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of racist comments on our posts because they are not in English. Racism and bigotry will not be tolerated on this page and you and your comments will be removed immediately. Thanks for your cooperation and kindness.

There are many who are fed up with seeing anything other than English, to which one should say “¡Adiós amigo!”
“Well since you don’t believe English is the United States language then I guess I'll unfollow this page,” Bill Benedict announced in response.
The weather service office’s retort: “Go right ahead Bill! Adios amigo.”
But did it keep people from taking the piss out of Americans in the comment section? Nope.
“What do you call a person who speaks multiple languages? Multilingual. What do you call a person who speaks 3 languages? Trilingual. What do you call a person who speaks two languages? Bilingual. What do you call a person who speaks one language? American.”
“The same people that are complaining are the ones that if they traveled to France and tried to look up the weather forecast and were nonfluent in French they'd be the first ones griping and asking hey where is the English translation. I can't believe this even bothers some people if it's in both Spanish and English.”
Memo to MAGA-Americans who wail “Speak English, this is America!”: I know you don’t want a passport, but do know this. There is a world beyond Donald Trump, American Idol, the Confederacy, and [dare I say it] weapons of mass destruction. Besides, you can’t even speak English well, even though it’s your first language.
