Sonoma County wine industry has vaccinated over 95% of essential vineyard and production workers.
I thought it would be cheerful to share some good news. Sonoma County has been working with wine industry in the region and achieved roughly 95% vaccination over the last few months.

Predominantly Latino, and one of the communities hardest hit by COVID, workers have been a focus of the region. As far as I can tell, they have achieved immunization at near twice the rate of the region as a whole.
It’s also somewhat personal for me since a very old friend who left retirement has been working diligently to create plans prior vaccination to protect workers, and with vaccination to ensure as rapidly and comfortably as possible the maximum number of people have had access.
The transportation to vaccination was well-organized; the registration process was vastly simplified and could be done by phone or by volunteers; support and communication on questions about vaccines and concerns was well-managed, and sensitive to context.
I think we are not just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the pandemic, but are entering it.
Have a great week. I know I will after reading this.
