I think there may be another reason for Sinema leaving the Democratic party.

Yes, we know she likes attention. But…

I believe polling will show that she has less than 15pct support if a real R vs a real D were running (someone please poll Lake vs Gallego vs Sinema) and it would make little sense for her to run. She may think she’ll gets Ds to step aside for her, but she should look at Murkowski, who is legit and accomplished, and see how her party has treated her.

Note Sinema has NO NATURAL HOME IN THE GOP. She is pro-choice and pro-LGBTQ. There is no way she survives a GOP primary.

So… the other game could be…

Getting appointed by Biden to a cabinet spot. Which would allow incoming Gov Hobbs to appoint her replacement (Gallego) and give him a serious leg up on 2024 in a critical race for Dems.

It would allow Sinema to save face, serve a year or so in a cabinet spot then bail with her golden parachute to whatever Pharma Co wants to pay her tens of millions.

I don’t know what she would want… I’d be seriously concerned for her to be in a position like HHS where her actions could harm vulnerable people, and she doesn’t have the credentials for homeland security.

Maybe Ambassador to Russia? (That’s a joke).
