All the near family birthdays that I’m sure of are done for the year — the brother that’s next after me turned 68 yesterday.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

No, I wasn’t hungry when I was making up my list of links. I was actually looking through things, and several recipes caught my fancy.
As of 10 minutes prior to my checking again at just after 8:00 PM on the 9th, universal healthcare measure to amend Oregon’s constitution had changed from just barely losing to just barely winning. Everything else is still winning at the same proportion as earlier in the day.
It seems our next governor is going to be another woman, another Democrat, etc. I am still never again in my life buying anything from Nike.
I don’t believe any week this school year will go as planned. No more than any did last year. We will, however, see.
My grandson had a sleepover at a classmate’s house on Thursday, since Friday was a holiday. My granddaughter got the braces off last week.
I am not thrilled about the measure to revamp the way Portland is governed passing. I think it’s a great idea, but I voted no because I couldn’t figure out how the bloody hell they planned to implement it.
Oregon has six Congressional districts now. It begins to look like we will end with five Democrats and one Republican.
