“Dank Biden” has now energized millions of young people with his blanket marijuana pardon, coming on top of his student loan relief and climate action.
But as many of us said Wednesday, the gates are closing* in many states because of voter registration deadlines. In the battleground states of Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Texas and several others,** registration closes next Tuesday, on October 11, 2022. Registration forms must be postmarked by, and online registration (where permitted) completed on that date.
In my story on Monday (A Response to the "Fetterman is in Trouble" Story: College and High School Students in Pennsylvania), I implored you to ask yourself five questions about PA college and high school students. Now it’s even more urgent to ask these questions about students in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Texas and the other states with October 11 deadlines.
Do you live in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, or Texas? Are you a college or 18 year old HS Student? Are you registered in these states?
Are you a parent/relative/friend or a college or HS Student in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio or Texas ? Is the student registered?
Are you contacting everyone you know in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Ohio or Texas with these questions?
Is there an ongoing Voter Registration Drive at these schools?
Is there a Young Democrats Chapter at the School?
For states with longer deadlines, HS and College voter drives are still possible with groups like The Civics Center and TurnUp.US.
