Virginia delegate John McGuire (#HD56) attended the Virginia Tea Party Patriots’ "Backlash Against Socialism Summit." The keynote speaker was Trevor Loudon, a modern-day Joe McCarthy who sees communists everywhere. Loudon has figured
out how to monetize the paranoia he whips up, flogging his books and videos wherever he’s invited to speak.
According to Blue Virginia, McGuire, running against fabulous political newcomer Blakely Lockhart, bought into the con, and went so far as to say that the Virginia General Assembly was being bought off by the Chinese Communists — including those in the GOP who vote for “Democrat stuff.” At the end of the clip, McGuire shakes Loudon’s hand and asks him for his card.
McGuire has also admitted to attending the January 6 insurrection (originally reported in the Washington Post), believes that women don't belong in the military because they “distract men,” and that the only thing Middle Easterners understand is "a punch." McGuire appears to be making a move to run against Abigail Spanberger for Congress next year; we need to do all we can to cut him off at the knees now.
We have a brilliant candidate to support in Blakely Lockhart. She is strong on all the issues DK readers care most about, and has been endorsed by Sen. Tim Kaine, Rep. Abigail Spanberger and a host of issues-oriented organizations. Please learn more about her, support her on social media and, if you can, click here to donate and help her get her message out.
