Early Voting has begun in 4 states. More very soon!THE GREATEST WEAPON WE HAVE IN OUR ARSENAL IS GET OUT THE VOTE. WHEN DEMOCRATS VOTE, WE WIN.This is why I post this information every day. This is my very small contribution. But millions of small contributions add up!!I hereby make a personal pledge:I WILL KEEP SENDING POSTCARDS TO VOTERS. ID REQUIREMENTS FOR EVERY STATE, HOW TO OBTAIN VOTER IDs

REGISTERING TO VOTE

1. State voting requirements can be found at U.S. Vote Foundation, located here.

Voting in the 2020 Presidential Election starts on September 18, because of early voting and absentee voting. ALL STATES PERMIT ABSENTEE VOTING.

Here are the State Laws Governing Early Voting

Of the states that allow early in-person voting, 24 and the District of Columbia allow some weekend early voting.

Saturday: 20 states, plus the District of Columbia provide for voting on Saturday. Four additional states (California, Kansas, Vermont and Massachusetts) leave it up to county clerks who may choose to allow Saturday voting. Delaware and Virginia will also include Saturday voting when the laws go into effect.

Sunday: Five states (Alaska, Illinois, Maryland, New York and Ohio) allow for Sunday voting. Five states (California, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Massachusetts) leave it up to county clerks who may choose to be open on Sundays. Florida mandates early voting must begin, including Sunday, the 10th day and end the third day prior to the election for state and federal elections. Local election officials also have the discretion to allow early voting the Sunday prior to the election. Delaware will also include Sunday voting when the law goes into effect in 2022.

Seven states offer early voting beginning 45 days before Election Day, which is September 18.

HERE IS THE EARLY VOTING CALENDAR.

EARLY VOTING (OR IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING) BEGINS THIS WEEK IN:

MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW JERSEY, SOUTH DAKOTA, VERMONT, VIRGINIA, and WYOMING

Why is this important? Because we need to get people to the polls. With so many states offering early voting, or absentee voting by mail, there is no excuse for not voting. We need to hammer away on this point, especially in states where voter suppression is rampant.

The Postal Service is telling Americans to give every ballot 14 days round trip. That means if you want to vote by mail, and you want to feel good about your vote being counted Election Day is not November 3. Election Day is Tuesday October 20th

“By the way...I’ve heard all about how they’re playing games with the post office, in terms of “late ballots”. I have a suggestion, which might not work in all areas, but I’m in the Atlanta area, and I’m guessing my local post office is likely considered in a “liberal” area. However, the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area has many areas (with their own post offices) that are in decidedly Red leaning or SOLID Red voting areas.

If you are worried about your ballot getting in on time, see if you can travel across town to the Post Office in the Deep Red Neighborhood. Most large urban areas have these...mail your ballot there. There won’t be any way to tell how you voted, but dropping your ballot in a deep red district means they’ll make sure every ballot from THAT part of town gets there on time.
