Today, Daily Kos announced key findings from a statewide survey of Georgia commissioned through Civiqs. The poll of 1,339 registered voters was conducted online from May 16-18 and finds Joe Biden defeating Donald Trump 48%-47%. Democrat Jon Ossoff bests incumbent Republican Sen. David Perdue 47%-45% in the race for Senate. In Georgia’s Senate special election contest, Democrat Raphael Warnock beats GOP Rep. Doug Collins 45%-44%, and Collins is tied with Democrat Matt Lieberman 44%-44%.
“This Daily Kos/Civiqs poll is full of exciting news for Georgia Democrats,” said Carolyn Fiddler, communications director for Daily Kos. “Suburban voters in the Peach State appear to have soured on Republican candidates, going from Trump 51%-46% in 2016 to 52%-43% Biden in this poll—a 14-point swing. This data indicates that Georgia is a top-tier presidential and U.S. Senate battleground this fall.”
