Who knew a late-night talk show host would be the front line of the healthcare battle? After Jimmy Kimmel went on the air to light up Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) for his terrible healthcare bill and his blatant lying, the Louisiana senator and his colleague Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) each took to the cable news to belittle Jimmy Kimmel, brushing off his criticism because he’s nothing more than a talk-show host and can’t possibly understand the complex healthcare bill. Except that he can and he does understand it. Analysts agree, Jimmy Kimmel's statements were entirely accurate, particularly when it comes to essentially ending the preexisting condition protections that affect 130 million Americans.
Kimmel also leveled a knock-out punch at Fox News anchor Brian Kilmeade after Fox News’s dumbest anchor went on the air to essentially say Kimmel was a know-nothing Hollywood elite. That was a mistake. Huge. Kimmel absolutely decimated Kilmeade in his monologue and promised to "pound you when I see you."
“He follows me on Twitter, he asks me to write a blurb for his book, which I did,” Kimmel said. “He calls my agent looking for projects. He’s dying to be a member of the Hollywood elite. The only reason he’s not a member of the Hollywood elite is because nobody will hire him to be one, and the reason I’m talking about this is because my son had an open heart surgery, has to have two more, and I learned there are kids with no insurance in the same situation. I don’t get anything out of this, Brian, you phony little creep. Oh, I’ll pound you when I see you.”
The audience roared in approval, but Kimmel wasn’t finished.
“That is my blurb, that will be my blurb for your next book,” he said. “‘Brian Kilmeade is a phony little creep.’ That’s right.”
URGENT: There’s a new Obamacare repeal bill in the Senate. (Yes, AGAIN.) Call your senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to save our health care. (After you call, please tell us how it went.)
