“This is not a White House for wall flowers,” former White House staffer and now CNN commentator Jason Miller said on Chris Cuomo’s program today.
“We’ve never seen anything like this in the history of modern American politics or in the history of politics ever anywhere in the world,” said Richard Socarides, former Bill Clinton aide.
This is a noteworthy exchange because it dances around the real point of what has taken place since Anthony Scaramucci was hired a week ago today, which is that Scaramucci was bought in by Trump to eliminate his enemies. “Leaking” is perceived by the Trump administration as a high crime and the only crime higher than that is disloyalty itself. But of course no one in Trump World is saying as much. Instead the talking points are limited to what a “breath of fresh air” Scaramucci is and how Trump loves to surround himself with “folks who are passionate and like to mix it up.”
Cuomo asked if Trump wasn’t a little bit too much into the bloodsport of the matter and that question went unanswered. Just by the by, Jean Claude Van Damme’s “Bloodsport” is Trump’s favorite movie. It It should come as no surprise to anyone that Trump not only favors “Bloodsport” but that he fast forwards to the fight scenes, seeing as how his own election rallies featured wild punches, choke slams, pepper spray, kicks, and more punches.
Hit the link and take a walk down memory lane, to scenes of an older man assaulting a young woman at a Trump rally after calling her a “goddamn communist n**ger lover.” This is who watches teevee and drinks Coke in the Peoples’ House nowadays. All things considered, Scaramucci’s War on Leakers (“I want to kill all the f**king leakers”) seems quite tame, and definitely a part of the insane order of things in Washington D.C., summer of 2017.
