The upshot of this story is that John Solomon has been used by the GOP in the past to publish misleading stories in credible media sources. Solomon is one of two authors who wrote a piece in The Hill about an “uncovered” bribery investigation into the Uranium One deal.
Solomon is a former editor at The Washington Times. If being the editor of such a RW mouthpiece isn’t sufficient evidence for his dishonesty, then you might be a Trump voter.

The article says that there was an FBI investigation into possible bribery on behalf of Russia, with the intent of increasing Russian holdings of Uranium in the US. This has been promoted and pushed by RW sources since it was released. Trump just tweeted about it again.
Any aware reader would see the language in the first line and know who this article is written for. It’s exactly what one would expect from Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, or Donald Trump.
Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium...
John Solomon is one of two authors. Solomon is known to Daily Kos from 2011. Back then, he wrote stories trying to connect Jack Abramoff to Harry Reid. Jack Abramoff, for those playing at home with the new version of the game, is the disgraced GOP lobbyist who went to prison for just about everything the GOP does on a daily basis. www.bloomberg.com/…
Here’s one of Kos’ two pieces mentioning Solomon.

Back in February, the AP's John Solomon ran a lengthy piece detailing alleged contacts between Jack Abramoff's team at Greenberg Traurig and Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV). As Josh pointed out, although the article concentrated on the fact that Team Abramoff was lobbying Reid on behalf of sweatshop owners in the Northern Marianas, Solomon failed to note that Reid actually voted against the legislation Abramoff was pushing.
Dkos user Winsmith did the bulk diaries covering this. Most of the stories are gone from their original sites at this point, but the wayback machine has them archived.
This one is still up at Media Matters.
Two days after an Associated Press report ignored crucial details that undermine a purported link between Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and disgraced Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a February 11 AP follow-up article misrepresented new evidence, which the AP suggested provides further confirmation of such a link but, in fact, casts additional doubt on whether such a link exists. This new evidence was a statement released by Ronald Platt, the Abramoff aide whose meetings with Reid provided the basis for the AP's original story.
Solomon was also the one who wrote the story months ago claiming that Comey’s handwritten notes had classified information.

The guy worked at RW command center, The Washington Times, and then he was hired by Sinclair Broadcasting, the RW local news people.
At the time, it was never clear to me whether this was more a matter of laziness or ideology. Subsequent events helped clarify things. Later Solomon went to work as the editor-in-chief of The Washington Times. And now he’s running Circa. You may remember that Circa was a startup with an ingenious but ultimately flawed or perhaps premature concept that debuted to much fanfare but ultimately shuttered. The URL and social media feeds of Circa were purchased by Sinclair Broadcasting, a hyper-right-wing media conglomerate, which is now buying up properties to bring its style of post-Fox News propaganda television nationwide. Sinclair put Solomon in charge of Circa and relaunched it as a Buzzfeed for right wing propaganda focused on millennials.
Long story short, John Solomon has been carrying water for right wingers for more than a decade.

What I’d really like to know is who gives Solomon this information.
The Hill article itself is pretty unconvincing, anyway. Who would be shocked to find out that Russia would try to bribe, and who would be shocked to find out that the FBI would investigate it?
