Sales Coordinator

Location: Remote within the U.S.

Daily Kos is hiring a full-time Sales Coordinator! In this role, you will support the sales team by achieving sales goals and maintaining positive customer relationships. In addition, you’ll spend time on administrative tasks such as managing schedules and ensuring customer satisfaction.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have an entrepreneurial and assertive mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity. As the Sales Coordinator, you’ll have the opportunity to work on everything from pitch meetings, prospecting new leads, contract negotiation, and helping to build the team’s internal processes.

Our offices are in Oakland, CA and Washington D.C., however, we are open to fully remote applicants.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to sales team in achieving sales targets and outcomes
  • Research potential new business opportunities through in-person events and inbound requests
  • Support SVP of Advertising Strategy in presenting, promoting, and pitching products/services to prospective clients, including participating in meetings with prospective clients
  • Utilize CRM tools to track the progression of sales leads as well as internal team performance
  • Help draft sales materials, including client proposals, marketing documents, and case studies
  • Coordinate pre and post-sales efforts with team members and other departments (i.e., client services and tech)
  • Assists in invoicing and resolving A/R discrepancies and reporting
  • Work with the SVP of Advertising Strategy on additional duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 2 plus years of experience in a fast-paced, client-facing sales, service, or marketing role preferred. Or equivalent experience in the progressive political/non-profit technology space

Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to work hard
  • Proven ability to self-manage towards defined sales goals and other objectives
  • Capable of building alliances toward common goals
  • Ability to self-manage across departments within a flat organizational structure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with advertising or digital engagement
  • Established relationships within non-profit/political advocacy organizations and their consultancies is a plus but not required
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to identify and overcome roadblocks with creative solutions
  • Passionate about progressive politics, news, and building an engaged community

Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000

Senior Account Executive (Civiqs)

Location: Remote within the U.S.

Civiqs is the leading online scientific polling platform and a division of Kos Media LLC. Civiqs has been conducting surveys online since 2014. Every day, Civiqs surveys thousands of people across the United States on politics, culture, and current affairs. With years of daily responses on a huge array of questions, Civiqs maintains one of the largest databases of public opinion in the United States. The scale and quality of Civiqs’ public opinion data, and its online survey panel, is unmatched in the survey industry.

We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to help businesses, advocacy groups, strategists, and media organizations utilize Civiqs’ diverse array of public opinion research services to meet their strategic objectives.

Civiqs offers clients the ability to run large-scale scientific public opinion surveys using its nationwide, proprietary online research panel. The Civiqs panel is the largest opt-in respondent panel in the United States with a primary focus on politics and policy. Research services include custom survey interviewing, data interpretation and analysis, daily tracking polls, and access to an extensive public opinion data archive. Civiqs releases many of its tracking poll results publicly on our award-winning website civiqs.com, with more available on a subscription basis.

The Senior Account Executive will identify potential clients, understand their needs, propose and scope out research solutions, and close deals. This role requires an entrepreneurial and assertive mindset with awareness of how public opinion polling data can benefit clients’ strategic goals. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on everything including leading pitch meetings, prospecting new leads, negotiating contracts, and helping build the team’s internal processes.

As one of the first members of the business development team, the Senior Account Executive will have significant opportunities to expand their roles and responsibilities, contribute to the company’s overall strategy and competitive positioning, and help build the business development team.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Research and develop new business opportunities through in-person events, outbound pitches, and inbound requests
  • Present, promote and pitch products/services to prospective clients, including participating in and leading meetings with prospective clients
  • Utilize CRM tools to track the progression of sales leads as well as internal team performance
  • Draft sales materials, including: client proposals, marketing documents, and case studies
  • Understand client needs and collaborate with Civiqs’ research team to scope project budgets and requirements
  • Prepare and review client agreements

Experience: - 5-7 years experience in a quota-carrying sales or account management role at a software, consulting, research, or other professional services firm

Qualifications: - Proven ability to self-manage towards defined sales goals and other quantitative objectives - Ability to successfully build alliances toward common goals within the organization, and with clients and partner organizations - Ability to synthesize quantitative information and match client needs to Civiqs products and services - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Familiarity with the survey research field and its methods along with pre-existing relationships with decision makers within industry - BS/BA or equivalent work/life experience

Compensation: $110,500-$130,000 + incentives
