Joe Walsh! Karl Rove and Joe Walsh! There are no words. Even if they have their own anti-Comey agendas, these are still extraordinary statements from dedicated Republicans.
Walsh and Rove are not the only Republicans to condemn Comey’s actions. Larry Thompson, a deputy attorney general under George W. Bush, wrote with a former Clinton deputy attorney general that it was “antithetical to the interests of justice, putting a thumb on the scale of this election and damaging our democracy.” George Terwilliger III, who held the same position under George H.W. Bush, was also critical.
