Both candidates were in New York City and each spent their day there quite differently than the other. Painting a stark difference between the two Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
While he was in New York City Senator Sanders did what few presidential candidates have done he joined the picket line of Verizon workers fighting for better wages and fair treatment from the corporation. This is not the first the Senator has decided to stand with workers he did it with Fairpoint Communications workers in New Hampshire and Penford Products in Iowa.
Hillary Clinton decided to spend her day in New York City very differently, she held a $2,700 a ticket private fundraiser in the Upper West Side. Multi-millionaires Anna Wintour and Vera Wang hosted the fundraiser in their Upper West Side mansion. The private fundraiser was not open to everyday Americans but was packed with wealthy celebs like Martha Stewart and Matthew Morrison.
How they spent their days in the city largely reflects the state of the campaigns. Last quarter Bernie Sanders raised 77% of his money from donations of $200 or less while Hillary Clinton raised just 17%. Hillary Clinton has had to hold to 58 of these type of fundraisers while Bernie Sanders just 7.
