Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono (D. HI) in support of Governor Maggie Hassan's (D. NH) U.S. Senate campaign:
Great news from New Hampshire: We have another opportunity to elect one more Democratic woman to the Senate. Governor Maggie Hassan just jumped in the race against Republican incumbent Kelly Ayotte.
Why is this great news? Because Maggie is a progressive. She's a pro-choice woman. And with Maggie's entrance to the race, winning in New Hampshire will be the key to retaking our Democratic Senate majority.
This race is going to be neck-and-neck all the way to Election Day. That's why it's so important that Maggie gets her campaign off to a strong start. I'm coming together with some of my fellow Democratic women in the Senate to support Maggie and make sure she can join our ranks in 2016.
Join Team Maggie and make sure her campaign in New Hampshire starts strong.

Even though polls already show this race in a dead heat, this is going to be an uphill battle. Maggie's opponent, Kelly Ayotte, has a $5 million advantage, and outside right-wing groups have already spent millions attacking her -- before she even entered the race.
But together we can help Maggie win. She has a strong record in New Hampshire of fighting for middle-class families. As governor, she helped expand health care access to 50,000 people in New Hampshire. She expanded access to community colleges in New Hampshire, and froze tuition for their in-state system.
I'm looking forward to working alongside Maggie as we fight for education, healthcare, and better economic opportunities for all Americans. But first, her campaign needs to get off to a strong start.
Will you join Team Maggie today and help elect another Democratic woman to the Senate?

A win in New Hampshire will help middle-class families across the country. Thank you for stepping up for Maggie today.

Mazie Hirono
