(This is my first diary, so forgive me if I inadvertently fail to follow a protocol of some sort.)
Now that we are heading into another holiday season, I thought it might be fun (and useful) to share stories about the insanity of talking politics with conservative family members.
I was talking with my stepfather recently (he's a diehard Weekly Standard reader), and he kept going on about the "radical left." This puzzled me, because I don't see much radical left influence these days. I said, "Okay, who do you think is a major radical left player? I'm just not sure who you're talking about."
He thought for a minute, and replied, "Barbra Streisand."
How do you have a conversation with someone who thinks like that? I'm sure I'm not the only one in that sort of situation over the holidays.
Do you have a similar story? By all means, share it, and answer the following question: If we Kossacks are going to touch the hearts and minds of the Bill O'Reilly fans in our lives, what do you think are the three key talking points to share over turkey and cranberry sauce?
