Donna Brazile, DNC Vice Chair of Voter Registration apologized to the Bernie camp for the “stupidity” of the emails and stated, “People will have to step down.”
Brazile stopped in to personally speak with Bernie campaign staffers during the platform committee yesterday in Philadelphia where Sanders, Clinton teams created 'unity commission' to examine overhauling superdelegates.
Bernie has called for the resignation of Debbie Waserman Schultz for some time now and renewed calls were made after the recent DNC email wikileaks. He stated that not only should DWS step down for how she handled the Democratic primary but that the party needs someone who reaches out to young people and working people to bring them into the party. DWS leadership is not doing that. DWS has already been stripped of her speaking slot at the Democratic National Convention.
Appearing on Sunday morning shows, Bernie also made a point to emphasize that while the situation with the DNC does need to be addressed and handled properly, his priority at this time to defeat Trump. His campaign has just released a statement on his DNC speech which will be delivered on Monday, opening night of the convention.
Sanders to Address Democratic National Convention
JULY 24, 2016
BURLINGTON, Vt. – In an opening night address on Monday at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will make it clear that Hillary Clinton is by far superior to Donald Trump on every major issue from economics and health care to education and the environment.
Sanders will stress that the most progressive platform in Democratic Party history includes agreements he reached with Clinton to dramatically expand health care access and to make public colleges tuition-free for students from families with annual incomes up to $125,000 a year.
In his remarks, Sanders also plans to rip into Trump for siding with the Koch brothers and echoing fossil fuel industry claims that climate change is a hoax despite the virtually-unanimous scientific consensus that the warming planet is causing devastating harm.
Sanders also will send a message to the convention and to the 13 million voters who supported him that they have begun a political revolution to transform America and that the revolution – Our Revolution – continues. “Together,” he will say, “we continue the fight to create a government which represents all of us, and not just the 1 percent – a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice.”

CNN is reporting that sources tell them DWS will be “gone by the end of the day” but that she believes she may be able to weather the storm.
It sounds as though the final decision on her stepping down is still pending and DWS is digging her heels in. She has gone dark for the moment, not taking any calls. This highlights the fact she has become a major distraction and is useless in her position.
DWS has already been stripped of her speaking slot and officiating duties at the convention.

Dana Bash has just reported that both the Clinton and Obama camps have informed her that DWS will be gone by the end of the day. “She will either step down herself or they will fire her.”
Per Dana, DWS has been stating that she wants to “hear it from the President,” despite the message from the Clinton camp that she needs to step down.

Bernie just issued a statement on DWS’ resignation:
“DWS has made the right decision for the future of the Democratic Party. While she deserves thank for her years of service the party now needs new leadership that will open the door of the party and welcome working and young people. The party leadership must also always remain impartial in the presidential nominating process, something which did not occur in the 2016 race.”
