My opponent Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ party is melting down day by day. There’s a whole lot of drama going on behind the scenes of the Republican party over who’s going to be King of the Hill.
This week Forbes and the New York Times both wrote about the “deeply factionalized Republican Party” that the Freedom Caucus that is plotting a revolt against the House leadership, starting with Paul Ryan, Speaker. This is retaliation for Ryan’s recent “disloyalty” and criticism of Trump. Reliable sources have indicated the House Freedom Caucus is plotting to depose or force Ryan’s resignation in the lame duck session that begins a week after the November 8th election day. If a majority of the House support the motion, Ryan could be removed immediately as speaker. Faced with the probability of a vote of no confidence, it’s conceivable Ryan, like John Boehner, would resign before being deposed.
So where does that leave my opponent? As the #1 ranking Republican female who still pledges her allegiance to Donald Trump, she’s boxed herself into a canyon. If she votes AGAINST Ryan — she literally votes against herself. If she votes FOR him — they oust her anyway right along with him! So who’s she going to choose? Will she continue to stand by her man Trump or will she throw her loyalties to her party leader Speaker Ryan? She’s got a big problem that’s getting messier by the day.
I, on the other hand, will be in the same party as the next president. The 5th Congressional District needs someone who can bring home the bacon for Eastern Washington. I am a problem solver — not a politician who carries all this baggage into Congress. I have the background, experience, education and heart to fight for the middle class. Now it’s up to the voters to decide — do they want to help carry Cathy’s baggage or go with the new guy who’s a breath of fresh air?
I humbly ask for your vote in November 8th.
