“TRENTON — An official in the Murphy administration described in harrowing terms Tuesday how high-ranking members of Gov. Murphy’s campaign and staff, including the governor himself, failed to act when she tried to alert them about a campaign aide who she says raped her.
“I had access to people in the highest positions of power in the State of New Jersey,” Katie Brennan, chief of staff for the state’s housing agency, testified during a legislative hearing. “And at each turn, my pleas for help went unanswered. Somehow, it wasn’t apriority to address my sexual assault and working with my rapist until it impacted them.”

Privilege rears its ugly head once again, if this women is to be believed. Since this story came out, two other women have come out with similar charges against Albert J. Alvarez of attacks in 2000 and 2016.
Brennen is Chief of Staff of the Housing Agency. Says she had the ears of those in high places, but was ignored and that Alvarez was hired for a $140,000 government job under Murphy after the election.
Alvarez was in charge of outreach to Muslims and Latinos during Gov. Murphy’s election campaign. After the campaign, he was hired for the government job. Brennen says it was during the campaign that she tried to get heard so that it was no secret and should have blocked him from being hired.
He did quit his job in October and now there is an “investigation.”
